About Kim

Twenty years of listening and still learning from every person who walks in.

A little about my path, my training, and the approach I bring to our work together.

Kim Watson, Registered Psychotherapist
My story

Some of my own journey.

I've been a psychotherapist for over 20 years and I've spent that time refining my skills through self-discovery, real-life experience, and something I never expected to be so central to my work: what every single client has taught me along the way.

Outside the office, I've been married 30-plus years, raised a daughter and son, both grown now, and I'm never far from a good book, an animal, or a walk in the woods. The world moves fast; I try not to. That's the steadiness I bring to our work together.

My approach

Therapy rooted in empowerment.

At the heart of it, my job isn't to fix you or hand you answers. It's to help you access the healing presence that's already inside you. I listen, I guide, and together we make space for your own internal wisdom to lead.

Today, IFS is the core approach I use. The growth and transformation I've witnessed, in my own life and in the lives of my clients, has been so profound that my search for "the right modality" is simply over. It's creative, deeply client-led, and opens up a true path of self-discovery. Honestly, it's changed how I understand human healing altogether.

At its core, IFS is about restoring harmony within your internal system. Everything you need already lives within your core Self (IFS capitalizes Self, so we know it's the wise one inside), which is that steady, wise essence that cannot be damaged or broken. But life's hurts often force our parts into extreme roles: some step up to protect and manage daily life, while others carry the painful weights of the past.

My role is simply to help you reconnect with your Self. What if you and I sat together and met every part of you, the ones carrying joy, the ones guarding you, and the ones holding pain, with genuine curiosity, calm, and compassion? When your parts feel truly seen and safe enough to let your Self lead, what remains is an internal balance and peace beyond anything you might have imagined.
